This is the second SlideShare presentation I’ve done for the Poly Bag Pro.
Obviously my goal with these SlideShare presentations is to add a little humor to an otherwise unsexy product. So I hope you like it and of course be sure to comment and let me know what you think and if you have any suggestions.
How To Rock At Buying Poly Bags
This is a pretty simplistic six step process on how to be successful and “rock” at buying poly bags. As I’m sure you are aware there are many more steps involved when getting an accurate poly bag quote however this presentation should give you a good stepping point to be successful at it.
What Are Poly Bags?
Poly Bags are made of polyethylene resin through the process of extrusion, printing, and conversion.
In order to be successful at buying poly bags you must first make some decisions and do a little leg work.
Step 1 – Know What You Want
Do you know a plain stock poly bag or do you require a custom designed print or color?
If printing is required is it simply a text image or will it require high definition printing?
Step 2 – Know What You Need (Yes It’s Different)
What size or dimensions do you need to properly fix your product?
What quantity is required so you don’t run out of product two quickly while also not holding massive inventory for a long time. What are your needs?
What is your budget? Poly bags aren’t free but remember they are many times more cost effective then other packaging needs.
Step 3 – Find A Supplier
Do you want to work direct with a manufacturer or do you normally work with distributors?
Whom ever you decide to work with, make sure they have the capabilities to provide for step one and two.
Will they be able to provide your print requirements? Can they handle your needed quantity?
Step 4 – Design Your Bag
If you already have a design prepared, great!
Otherwise you will likely need to work with a graphic designer to prepare your design. Be sure to provide your supplier with as high quality an image as you can. Preferably as an Adobe Illustrator or Adobe Photoshop file.
These file types provide the best images to work off of so your bags turn out perfect.
Step 5 – Agree On A Game Plan
It’s important to have a plan when producing poly bags.
Make sure both you and the supplier understand what’s needed from you (artwork, specifications, paperwork, etc), what’s needed from your supplier (price, lead time, capabilities, etc), and a realistic time frame.
Poly bags often take longer than a couple of weeks to be produced. Especially if they are custom and require artwork. Be prepared for that.
Step 6 -Start Rocking
Easy enough. Follow these steps and you will truly ROCK at buying poly bags.
